Chef / Stewardess

We are seeking a passionate Chef / Stewardess to join our team. The ideal candidate will be personable and dedicated with a background in cooking and boating. They will successfully oversee a range of responsibilities onboard contributing to the overall success of our charter business and owners experience. The boat is primarily a fishing charter vessel based out of Opua, Bay of Islands from January to May, the Pacific Islands from June to October and Auckland for December.  

Key Responsibilities:  

• Managing all aspects of the galley. Menu planning, provisioning, preparation of meals, clean up and maintenance. 
• Three meals plus snacks daily for guests and crew on charter days. Lunch and occasionally dinner for crew on off-charter days. 
• Beverage management including provisioning, refrigerating and making drinks for guests. 
• Ability to cook whilst at sea. 
• Daily cabin cleaning, and turndowns when on charter. 
• Turnarounds of the cabins and vessel pre and post trips. 
• Maintaining and managing the upkeep and detailing of the vessel interior to a high standard, at all times. 

Essential skills and experience

• Must be eligible to work in New Zealand
• Hold a current STCW 
• Background in cooking and boating 
• Passion for fishing a bonus but not required
• Understanding of safety protocols and procedures for maritime operations 
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities 
• Flexibility and willingness to assist in various tasks as needed
