Night Manager

The Hotel Britomart is seeking an experienced Night Manager to lead our Front Office team during overnight operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for guest satisfaction, hotel security, team supervision, and the successful completion of the Night Audit process.

About the Role

As Night Manager, you will be the senior leader on duty overnight and the primary point of contact for guests and team members. You will oversee the smooth operation of the hotel, support the Front Office team, handle guest enquiries and concerns, manage overnight security, and ensure all financial and operational reporting is completed accurately.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise overnight hotel operations.
• Manage guest arrivals, departures, and enquiries.
• Complete and oversee the Night Audit process and daily financial balancing.
• Ensure hotel security and guest safety throughout the night.
• Coach, support, and develop Front Office team members.
• Handle guest complaints and resolve issues professionally.
• Prepare and distribute overnight operational and financial reports.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and other departments.
• Undertake valet parking and porter duties when required.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Previous experience in a Night Auditor role within a hotel environment.
• Experience leading or supervising a Front Office or Night Operations team.
• Strong understanding of hotel night audit procedures, reconciliations, and reporting.
•  A current New Zealand Manager's Certificate.
• A full, clean New Zealand Driver Licence.
•  Current legal rights to work in New Zealand.
• Availability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Exceptional communication, guest service, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

• Experience in a luxury or boutique hotel environment.
• Experience with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS).
• LCQ qualification.
• Hospitality or Hotel Management qualification.
