Health, Safety and Compliance Manager

Britomart Group are seeking a qualified and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our Group. This is a senior role, ideal for a professional with a strong background in construction, building, or property and at least five years of experience overseeing Health and Safety at an organisational level.

About the Role

This role within the Operations Management Team has responsibility for the Health, Safety and Compliance of the portfolio of Commercial buildings within the Britomart Precinct, as well as all public and common areas. The role is primarily to coordinate and facilitate the safety of all persons within the Britomart Precinct, our buildings, our employees and to do so to the standard directed by relevant legislation and regulatory stipulations.

You will collaborate closely with Health and Safety peers within our Britomart Hotel and related businesses, ensuring compliance and best practices across the board. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, your expertise will be instrumental in fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, implement, and maintain Health and Safety policies and procedures

* Conduct risk assessments and audits across the Group’s properties

* Provide expert guidance and training to staff on best safety practices

* Ensure compliance with New Zealand's workplace safety laws and building regulations

* Investigate incidents and drive continuous safety improvements

* Work closely with other safety professionals within the Group

About You

* Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior Health and Safety role

* Strong background in construction, building, or property sectors

* In-depth knowledge of NZ Health and Safety regulations

* Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills

* Ability to work collaboratively across multiple businesses
